Transformed....
...would have to be this year's defining word for us.
Last year's renewal brought forth a big change for us.
As most of you know, we started the year with relocation to Pismo Beach.

With renewal comes change; and with change comes transformation....

As another year comes to an end,
a time to reflect on all our blessings,
on all past mercies and life’s lessons learned.
A time to reconnect to all we miss,
to all we hold dear, far and near.

As a new year beckons,
a time to look forward to a new beginning,
to refocus our intentions and aspirations.
A time to hope for renewed strength,
and bring to fruition all our transformations.

Our family transformations for the year 2007
  • New home - where the beauty of nature abound allowing for the transformation of the soul.
  • Travel to Florida and Philippines - a much needed R&R for the transformation of body & mind.
  • On Isabella: she transformed to a very passionate dancer (ballet, jazz and tap) and model student. Her teacher's comments on her recent report card: "Isabella is becoming a well rounded scholar. Her excellent work is a reflection of her fine attitude and effort. I am impressed with her willingness to help others in class. You can always depend on Isabella to set a good example socially as well as academically." She is receiving an academic and attendance award for the first trimester.
  • On Ian: As a Sophomore, he continues to grow, learn and pursue his own interests. He joined the wrestling team and made it to varsity. He is transforming into a very independent young man.
  • On Immanuel: He transformed into a very independent college student. He moved to Pismo with us and attends Cuesta College (2 classes with Phil), enjoys surfing, fixing his Toyota Supra and playing with Butters (a beloved maltipoo). He is planning to move back to Union City after this semester.
  • On Phil: He continues to excel at Cal Poly and enjoys extreme boogie boarding and attending classes with Immanuel. He transformed into a very centered and reliable man.
  • On Imelda: The beauty that abound in our new home fostered reflection and meditation allowing for the transformation of my soul. I developed a deep fondness for reading and writing. Little sayings, quotes and scriptures find their way to my heart and are fast becoming the foundation of my spiritual life. I discovered the power of words in my life and I am very grateful for the Word that became flesh and dwelt among us.
  • On Russ: The physical distance presented a challenge on fatherhood (he was alone in the beginning of the year with Immanuel, a teen with many interests, full of energy, determination and generosity. (imagine that:)). As a transformed dad, Russ managed to draw from his fatherly unconditional love allowing for much needed understanding and patience.
